Cassette

“Oh, no! This wouldn’t happened if she laid off her hands!” Mia felt bad. Her face turned red, her voice sound upset. She kept calling the girl’s name, the girl who caused her madness, Shinta.
“Argh….I hate her!” she souted.
Mia walked back toward her badroom. The only place that makes her feels comfortable, no longer there. She was not feeling the some now, because her days was already ruined. Because of Shinta, her day was bleak.
Mia took her phone cell and send a massege to Shinta.

It started two days ago. It was a sunny Sunday morning, when she got a company.  That day her friendLinda come offer. One her way to Mia’s house, Linda met Shinta and when she knew that Linda wanted to meet Mia, she wanted to come along. The truth was Linda did not feel comfortable with her presence. As usual, no body really liked Shinta. But, Linda couldn’t refuse her. Besides, she knows that she needs company to visit her best friend. So, they went together to Mia’s.
“Ding dong!!” the door bell rings.
Mia got down from stairs to open the door. She is very happy because Linda come to her house. She was surprised with Linda’s company, but tried ignore. Than they went to the bedroom, Mia told about her experience in Bandung. But, a few minutes after, the phone rang, she received it and speak quite long. The two girls stayed in he room, Shinta looked at the cassetes collections, near the bed. It’s Alannis Morrisette’s new album, she took it and played it on tape. Linda still busy reading the magazine when all of a sudden Sinta started to tell about her journey to where Mia went in Bandung.
Linda ignored her; she heard it a hundred times. Her face shown how desperate she was. But she kept silence, though she wish Mia to go back soon. For five minutes, Shinta kept on talking making Linda feel bored. Than, she remembered something and asked about the tape.

“Hei, where’s the song?”
With that, she made Shinta stopped talking and checked the tape. She pushed another button and than the music was on again. They listened together. Not long after, Mia started to talk a very long talk.

Two days later, Mia went back from school, and on one in the house, she took her tape from where she usually stashed and turned it on; but a moment after she heard nothing, instead the voices she knew very well. It was her friend’s voices.
“What? What’s  going on?”
“Wait a minute! They recorded voice on my cassette. They must have pushed the record button! No way!”
Mia checked the tape again, to make sure that the voices wear really her friends voices. She played it over and over; no doubt about it, it’s them. She got panicked and confused. Her cassette, Alannis Morissette’s album with the singer’s real autograph, was a gift for her birthday, from her causin in Canada. And now, it was broken.
“I can’t believe this!” she mumbled to herself; trying to manage herself, she took a dreep breath and tried to calm down. She went to take her phone cell and give Linda text.
“Linda , what did you do with my cassette, yesterday?  There are your voices in it.“ She typed. The massage was send. Not long after, Linda replied.
“No, I didn’t do a thing with tour tape, I swear.” Was Linda’s reply text.
“But the record of your voice’s and Shinta’s?” Mia send another text in reply.
“I was reading a magazine, the one who played the tape was Shinta. How came our voices on the cassette?” Linda asked back.
Mia did not have time to reply text again; all she needed to ask is the last person who was also there, Shinta. She had to ask for an explanation. She tried to call her number but it was off-line. Then she decided to text her.
“Did you break my cassette? Your voice was on it; what did you do?” she send the massage right away. Mia could not accuse Linda. She knew her best friend, Linda, and she was telling the truth. Mia waited for very long, but Shinta’s reply never came through. And the phone kept off-line until the day after.

The next day at school lunch break. Abruptly, Mia came to Shinta and asked for answers from her. She came right at her and gave her the look.
“Your broke my Alannis?” she asked Shinta and at the some time tried to calm down.
“Broke what?” Shinta replied with that innoucent look. Mia was losing her patience.
“Did’n you read my text?” the tone a little high.
“What did you do my cassette? Now your voice is in this cassette!” mia could not say another word.
“But I didn’t do…, I just…..” shinta tried to explain, but Mia ‘s stopped her short.
“If you want to use any of my belongings, you should ask for my permissions. You’ve made me mad at the wrong person, Linda, and I even thought she was the one who broke it. How come you didn’n ask?” mia could not help herself.
“I thought if it’s fine with Linda, it’s fine with you…,” answered Shinta. Her voice was low.
“Cause she’s my friend? And she never broke my stuff?” mia replied with a high voice.
“I think…” she replied. But Mia continued, and did not give Shinta a cance to say anithing more.
“Well, maybe it’s time for you to do things with responsibility? From the moment you came with her that day, some how I sense some thing will happen and you know, I should’ve listened to my friend warning about you!” Mia couldn’t talk to her again, she left her.
Shinta was really sad and felt hart about what she heard. She knew that it was hard to do the right things and to have other accepted her. She hope to came and visit Mia, make Mia liked her, and she can be a part of her gang, truly welcomed. Maybe she could really make friends with polular girls like Mia, but that stupid things she did at Mia’s house would make her hard to find friends. She would be lucky if no one would hate her.
At the time, Linda came walking and saw her, “Heim what was that?” asked Linda.
“Nothing,” Shinta tried to hide her emotions. She walked away and left Linda. She did not want to tell anyone about it.

“She didn’t even say sorry?” explained Mia.
“Well, maybe it’s because she didn’t know what to say. But you shouldn’t talk to her like that. I saw her face. She really looked shocked,” answered Linda and than send contonued, “Mia, listen, maybe she’s little bit anoying and has the tendency to be irresponsible, and she just can't stopped talking about her life, but I think she didn’t mean anyharm by that. You should saw her that day. I think she was really sad, you know.”
“Well, uh…” Mia sighed ang took very long breath. “I don’t know, Lin, perhaps I was too hard on her and yes, I admit I said something horrible to her. But it’s my Alannis, a give from Canada. I just got angry!” Mia tried explain things.
“If only she’s asked for my permissions first, well… I don’t know. Like…right till now, she didn’t even text me or anything ang say she’s story, or at least looked like she feel sorry about it?”
“If only she could talk to me, maybe things will be different,” Mia thought to herself.

It takes time to replace the broken cassettes with new ones. Shinta knows that Mia still feel upset, and doesn’t wnt to talk with her again. But she really wish she could say sorry.
But, that day someone put something on Mia’s desk, someone who tried to fix her stupid mistake
